Running Shoes


I completed Week 3 of C25k yesterday. I had been running in my standard Nike's and had been having some leg pain. The most frustrating part of the whole experience was that even though I had the stamina, I could not make my legs move any faster without wanting to stop.

After some research I thought actual running shoes might help, so I went to a local running store and had them do an analysis of my running style. I ran on a treadmill with a camera for 30 seconds with a neutral shoe and watched the slo-mo replay of my feet. It turns out I am an over-pronator with a flatter foot. After 15 pairs of shoes and 5 more runs on the treadmill I ended up with the Brooks Trance 10. I did my first run with them yesterday and ran 12 minute mile pace. I am extremely excited about this as I had been running 15ish minute mile pace. The difference the shoes make is incredible.
